Brother Howie Damron's Masonic Pride Tour: Brother Howie Damron of South Point and country music artist has written several songs on Masonic topics including a song written at the request of Grand Master Ronald Winnett to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He performed this song at the 17th Masonic District Founder's Day dinner on Friday, January 4, 2008 which was very well received. This and other Masonic songs and one for the Order of DeMolay may be found on his new CD "The Masonic Touch." He will be traveling the State of Ohio and performing his Masonic songs throughout our bicentennial year. More information on his tour and obtaining his CD may be found at his web site.

Harry Hope with Grand Master Jim S. Deyo. Harry was recognized at the Grand Master's reception on February 12, 2005 for 70 (actually 71) years of service to the fraternity. Unfortunately, Harry's pin was left in the GM's luggage as he was preparing for receptions in the southwest US. Harry received his pin at our annual awards night on May, 24, 2005 (see below). Harry is our oldest living Past Master and still comes out to assist in our degree work and Past Masters nights.

Pictured above are those who received fifty year service pins for 2005 (L to R Robert Cooley, C. Keith Bateman, PM and Paul MacCombs) along with Harry Hope (front) who received his 70 year pin at our May awards banquet. Current Worshipful Master Jeff Slattery is on the right.
Pictured above are several young ladies from the local Irish Step Dancing school who entertained us at the May, 2005 Awards Banquet. They explained and demonstrated the various styles of dance as well as the competitive levels available. The two young ladies on the ends are just beginning their training as noted by their simpler outfits. Those in the middle are further along and are wearing more elaborate outfits that correspond to their level of competition.
Third from the right is Mary Paige Dalrymple. The lodge contributed to her trip to Ireland to compete in the International Step Dancing competition held earlier this year.

Pictured above are three of our members who achieve 25 years of service during the 2006 term. From left to right are Bill Twaragowski, Mike Jonas (raised in Philodorian Lodge, Nelsonville) and Jim Smith, PM.
Athens Masonic Scholarship: The Athens Masonic Scholarship was established to provide scholarship assistance primarily for the first and second years of an undergraduate degree. It is open to students with a father, grandfather, brother or spouse who is a member of Paramuthia Lodge or one of the other Athens bodies. Members of our Masonic youth groups Athens Order of Rainbow or Athens DeMolay (both currently dark)- are also eligible. Click here to download the application. The deadline to apply is usually April 15th of each year. Awardees are usually notified in time for recognition at school awards ceremonies. Checks are usually mailed in August.
